LeBron Decision Day

Posted in NBA, Sports on July 8, 2010 by SwedLifeSeth

The LeBron James free agency soap opera ends tonight on ESPN with an hour long special leading up to the King’s ruling. LeBron will announce his decision from the Boys and Girls Club in Greenwich, CT, which is probably a bad sign for Cavs fans. I originally had LeBron staying, but it seems that the Cavs did not do enough to prove to him they were dedicated to winning. This whole ESPN thing would be a lot of song and dance to not make a move, so I think he will end up in Miami, since they have made the moves to give him a better chance to win. Chicago could still be a good fit, but LeBron will probably favor his Team USA teammates over Rose, Boozer, and Noah. We’ll see tonight

SwedLife NBA Free Agency Prediction

Posted in NBA, Sports on July 1, 2010 by SwedLifeSeth

So we have not covered much in sports recently because shit has not been going my way and I dont have much to say about it, but this is a freak free agency and I’m making some prediction.

1) LeBron – clearly the first move in the class, I think he cares to much about his legacy to bail on Cleveland this early. The greats all built their empires, not jumped to super teams with DWade and Bosh. I think he only signs for 3, even though that will cost him money. If he doesnt have a ring by then he’s definitely gone, but Cleveland has a lot of work to do quick if they want to keep him. Byron Scott as a coach is a good start. If Chris Paul is actually on the trading block he would be a great compliment

2) D Wade / Boozer  - already owns his city, if they make a big enough move he wont leave. I think they end up getting boozer after bosh land elsewhere

3) Bosh – Bulls, but he could go to the knicks even though they suck. I think he is really good fit in chicago playing pf with noah playing center. Noah is an animal but not a great scorer, would definitely allow Bosh to focus on scoring for both of them

4) Joe Johnson – I think he goes with bosh to chicago, which would be a great team. Also could land in new york / new jersey

5) Melo – Anthony isn’t a free agent until next year but Denver could definitely trade him to a team that loses out on this years crop, I could definitely see the Knicks being an option. Melo would benefit in endorsements much more than LeBron or Wade from being in New York, those dudes are marketable anywhere

6) Pierce – face of the Celtics for his entire career, would really tarnish his legacy by leaving. 0% chance in my mind, especially with doc back

7) Amare – Knicks, also would benefit from the market like Melo, if chicago doesnt get Bosh Amare could land there

8) Dirk – similar to pierce, cant imagine him leaving, maybe the clippers when they get no one else
